Educator Saturdays are back at Discovery Place, Charlotte Nature Museum and Discovery Place KIDS all month long

CHARLOTTE – Every Saturday in September, all Discovery Place Inc. Museums are celebrating the back-to-school season with Educator Saturdays, offering educators and one guest FREE admission to Discovery Place, Charlotte Nature Museum, Discovery Place KIDS-Huntersville and Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham.

Educator Saturdays provide the opportunity to explore an array of exhibitions, labs, live programming, outdoor adventures and films that are offered daily, and consider how these experiences enhance student learning. From hands-on lab demonstrations on innovative technology to live animal interactions and imaginative role playing, our Museums help educators meet demanding curriculum requirements by offering engaging, state-of-the-art educational experiences.

Attending educators will also have the chance to win a FREE field trip for their class (transportation not included).

When visiting Discovery Place, educators can also stop by Discovery Place Education Studio at Bank of America STEM Center for Career Development from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. to learn about new course offerings and register to win a FREE professional development course. Educators can explore professional development offerings in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). There are courses for all interests, grade levels and curriculums, from building your own classroom 3D printer to learning how storybooks can support Common Core standards for engineering. Come see what all the buzz is about!

Educator Saturdays will be held during regular Museum hours on Saturday, September 5, 12, 19 and 26. Educators must present their school ID or NCDNPE homeschool certificate to receive free admission and special offers. Parking will be validated for educators on the day of each event. Reservations are not required but educators should visit Admissions upon arrival to register and receive information and parking validation.
