CHARLOTTE, NC (May 5, 2026) – Unleash your inner artist and engineer in Brick Masters Studio: Build with LEGO® Bricks Like a Pro, an immersive exhibition by world-renowned artist Sean Kenney, opening at Discovery Place Science on May 23, 2026.
“We see every experience at Discovery Place as an opportunity to spark curiosity and inspire new ways of thinking,” said Catherine Wilson Horne, President & CEO of Discovery Place. “We’re excited to bring Brick Masters Studio to Charlotte and to welcome our community to explore moments where imagination, creativity and discovery come alive.”
Produced by Imagine with science content developed by Science North, Brick Masters Studio features over 100 sculptures built with over 2 million LEGO® pieces, inviting guests to explore the intersection of art, science and engineering. Hands-on build challenges, real-world engineering concepts and insights into the artistic process show how imagination and innovation come together to create something extraordinary.
Guests step into Sean’s Workshop to explore how scientific principles like shape, form and color theory influence the creation of his masterpieces. In the Sculpting with Shape gallery, guests learn to “brickify” 2D designs into 3D sculptures, while Color Collision reveals the fascinating science of color through vibrant displays and hands-on opportunities. Whether a first-time creator or a LEGO® enthusiast, every guest gets a chance to think, build and create like a pro in Brick Masters Studio.
Exhibition experiences include:
- Exploring a real artist’s studio, where inspiration meets innovation
- Tackling build challenges that test skills in structure, shape and color
- Experimenting with stability and balance while crafting colorful creations
- Viewing jaw-dropping sculptures and uncovering the secrets behind their design
“We are proud to partner with Sean Kenney and Science North to develop Brick Masters Studio, an exhibition that brings together innovative artistry and meaningful educational experiences, inspiring visitors of all ages to explore their imagination,” said Tom Zaller, President and CEO of Imagine.
Brick Masters Studio will be open daily and on exhibition through September 7, 2026. The exhibition is included with general admission to Discovery Place Science and is free for Members. Purchase admission at discoveryplace.org.
